Hey, Folks! I am new to Puresim. After searching for weeks trying to find a baseball sim, I stumbled upon a site which linked to Puresim. Long story short, I DLd the game on Sunday morning and spent the entire day, and quite a few cups of java, creating my fictional league, fictional teams and inhabited with fictional players. I know, from reading the forum, many of you are running the sim with real life players, teams and leagues, and I very well might get around to this after a season or two running a fictional baseball universe. I have set all teams to CPU controlled, every now and then I create hitters and pitchers to see how it changes the fortunes of teams. I am running 1 league of 10 teams in 2 divisions. I am enjoying watching how careers develope over time. When I get to running a real life MLB league, I might start around the 1940s Cubs if this is possible. Do I need to download any files or databases? And take control of the team myself. Absolutely love the game. Being a huge fan of baseball statistics, I am addicted to Puresim. Hopefully it stays around for a few more years. I have seen other sims fade off into obscurity

The game has many seasons. At least all since 1900. I don't recall for sure as the oldest I have ventured is 1972. I have done several seasons wit tru life transactions, great fun. If you play as GM and go several seasons, you might want to try alternate reality when using real players. You get Bonds or McGwire knowing they are power hitters in real life, but in alternate reality, they may not be as good or down right stink. You just don't know until you play it.
