I started a real player league in 1950. I haven't played with real players for a while now. I selected early entry, in season ratings changes, full rosters not required and age based system. After the first season a lot of the fringe players retired (only played a few seasons or multiple seasons but few games each year). Some before they actually made it to the show for the first time. This doesn't seem right. Could it be because I chose an age based league? Anyone have an idea why? This will really cut down on the numbers of real players available for future seasons. Don

Yeah, I'd have to say that using an age-based system has a lot to do with that. This is why I use 60-man rosters as well as early draft entry. This is a true alternative history, which makes it based on real history only to a point. I don't think you'll run out of real players anytime soon, as early draft entry brings up fresh blood each season. I made it through 2 1/2 seasons with the 1946 Brooklyn Dodgers, and with each successive season it gets more away from real life. I found it interesting. Now I'm attempting the same thing with the 2001 Pittsburgh Pirates (with finances ON). In this fashion I'm also testing the game's limitations. If things start getting too screwy I'll have to try something different.

KG, I decided to take the 1950 A's. Trading with the other teams is a real chore. No one wants any of the A's players. As you would imagine. So the draft is my only chance at building this team. I will just have to see how it goes. Don
