And don't forget PureSim Challenge mode option, in which, we can get fired by one and hired by another team ... this way, this League can continue - forever ... Tomas, I could be wrong and I wouldn't be surprised, but I thought if fired in PureSim Challenge mode the association was over. If that is not the case I might have to reconsider at some point in giving it a try.

Taz ... you're CORRECT ... the Challenge Mode ended when you get fired ... I was merely throwing in the suggestion of having an option, of not having the Mode ended, when one get fired ... I would rather see an option to CONTINUE after getting fired and rehired be another team ... I think THAT would be fun ... and see how, after 20 plus years, you would fare against the best of the Managers ...

I agree with your comments regarding the continuing of an association once you are fired.

I would definitely play challenge mode if I didn't have to worry about having my association end when I got fired. I'm willing to risk having to change teams, but I wouldn't want to put a few months into an association and get some kind of 'game over' message.
Tomas, to answer your question about BM....I finally went ahead and took the plunge. It's much better than it WAS. It's stable. It's still a huge step backwards from last year though. In PbP, the players with 'accurately colored uniforms' look like cartoon characters to me, and there's something off about the speed when I watch a game that options alone can't deal with.
Also, I'm still reading reports of players who may have pitched one or two games in their career (or pitchers who may have fielded for one or two games) being assigned the wrong position when they load into the draft pool. That alone is a deal breaker for me.
I admire BM's speed, but OOTP now is just as fast. As you have said, OOTP has nicely set itself up as grand champion of baseball sims. PureSim's appeal to me is its unabashed simplicity, the ability to more or less jump right in, not have to obsess over which roster rules to follow and so forth. BM is unfortunately a very distant third now. I don't see Clay ever fully recovering from this year's debacle.
Incidentally, I think you asked once in Wolverine-land about Action! PC Baseball. If you don't mind the fact it's a single season simulator with no career mode, I recommend it highly. I managed my way through the 2012 season, got blown away in the LCS and had a blast. Having to pay for each season, however, makes it inferior to PureSim.

Well said ... couldn't of said any better, mate ... the amount of money to put into Action! PC Baseball is a deal breaker ... although, managing the seasonal replay is an exceptional well made Game ... hence, PureSim Baseball is the best one for me ... it Simplicity and the raw Pureness is an undeniable attraction that I love about this Game ... OOTP14, is going to get better and better ... I just hope it doesn't go into the way of Playstation mode, as it had happened to other sport games ... I'm a PureSimmer for life, mate ...

I spent most of the mid to late 1990's updating my Tony LaRussa '96 game with the stats (from the latest baseball encyclopedia) from past years to current year just to replay past seasons. Looking back at all the time I spent in front of my computer doing that...do i regret it???

I don't know how much that Action game costs for one season, but if you can play the whole season, then go back and do it again with a different team and eventually doing it again and again going through all the teams, you could get your money's worth. But, it is in no way comparable to getting your money's worth like you can with PS.
Also, I again second the idea of a challenge option with the extra options of M, GM or both. That would be three more options within the option.

Hmmm ... sounds interesting, Mark ... although, one can be GM in the other Career modes ... I would rather have just the managerial mode and see if I can make winners out of them better than the previous manager ... and have no control with the GM's part ... we can offer suggestion to the GM, if we're ask ... if fired, hopefully, we can get hired again, during or the following season ... again, as you said, Mark, should be an options with those three methods - which will make the Game more attractive to all comers ...
Thanks, P#6, for the Chuckles of the Day, for the last post
