This has been a wild season. The team I watch has been involved in five extra inning games in their first 43. Sounds innocent enough, but those games were 27, 20, 14, 12, and 12 innings long. Official team sponsor is Ben-Gay, I mean Aspercreme, I mean, oh never mind. (Insert your own punch line here). In the most recent game, the Phantoms trailed 1-0 in the top of the 8th inning. The visiting Columbia Demons loaded the bases with no outs. Atlanta was surely headed to another defeat at the hands of the division leaders. But wait........I had never seen this before!!! Atlanta tied the game in the bottom of the 9th with a solo homer and won it in the 12th. And the beat goes on. Games 45 and 46 went 12 and 15 innings, respectively. The team is a mediocre 22-24, but at least the fans are getting their money's worth. There have been reports of umpires getting sick or putting in for their vacations when they see Phantom games on their schedule. Gotta feel sorry for those guys......not really .

I saw a triple play a few weeks ago--first one I have ever seen in thousands of simmed games. It was an emotional moment. BTW, this post is coming to you from London!
