1987 : Managing the Blue Jays and watching what is going on with the rest of the league is quite fun.
So far here is what I have to share .....
April 9, 1987
Willie Upshaw hits a grand slam HR in the bottom of 9th to give the Blue Jays a 7-4 win over the Tribe. It was my first win of the season managing Toronto who with the win raise their record to 1-2.
Bud Black pitched for the Royals going 5 and 2/3 innings of no hit ball and eventually ended up with a shutout win. KC 8 ChiSox 0
April 10, 1987
Pat Sheridan 0 for 5 and Gary Redus 0 for 9 both ended their hitless streaks for the season with HRs in this wild game which ended with Detroit beating the ChiSox 13-5.
Guy Hoffman threw 6 innings of no hit ball and ended up with a one hitter as he led his Cincinnati Reds to a 9-0 win over the San Diego Padres. Also for good measure Mr. Hoffman collected 2 walks at the plate and scored a run.
