As fabulous and Incredible in playing this, Pure and Simple, Baseball game... I've decided it would be best in getting all the oldtimers (even the newbies), who are still here, to show their steps in setting up their leagues...
As for me,
PureSim Classic mode (start the year you were born) I started mine in 1954... 1-100 scale Finance setting at 67 for all teams 1 League, 12 teams, 3 divisions 140 Games Injuries set at, as follows: Fielder Injuries: 250, Pitcher Injuries: 240 AI trades to on Check on Closer In Season Ratings Changes to on No to Expansion 4 man rotations No to DH
Assigned managers to each team...
I will also be adding my version of the Sandbox mode
Luck of the Irish to you All, mates...

I've tried three times so far to load the 2015 and each time, all the Ps stuff is in the 60s. There has to be a way to get through that mess. I had the same problem with 2014, but finally loaded correctly. Will keep trying.

Thanks Tomas, for providing info on how you play the game. I've always found it useful to take note of your suggestions. Looking forward to your version of Sandbox mode...Also, REALLY looking forward (and HOPING!) Shaun will provide a 2015 update; and even add a few words here...

Well I am trying to play a 12-team fantasy league using actual players/stats from a certain point in time (say 1970 forward). I'm trying to get as much accuracy as possible and I would like to be able to control all 12 teams (lineup, rotation) without the AI making changes on me. I don't care for finances or injuries or extensive minor leagues, just an accurate sim that allows human managers to change lineups and rotations as the season progresses. Is this possible?

Mostly. You can set the lineups and lock players, same for Ps. But can only operate one team if playing a game. You can then look at the next game and choose a team you want to be and change ownership to human.

Ok. I used to play an older version of this game and they had a 'commissioner' mode, and if you logged in as the commissioner you could set all the teams to human control, but that was probably 10 years ago. I was hoping the newer versions would bring that option back, but at least it sounds manageable with locking the rosters as you mentioned. I'll have to test it out. Thank you!

When locking rosters, you can go through and check manager tendencies and set to rest a player when tired or worn out instead. I go with tired to try and force the benches to be used more often. It works for me as a house rule for any teams I manage for each game.
For me, I usually go with 13 players, 12 Ps. I like to try and make sure that extra P has start ability, mainly at least 90+ Upper Pitch Limit. When I lock Ps, all those with start ability get locked into position, RPs, get locked into position and also click do not allow this P to start and of course CLs lock, not start and attempt to use in save situations only. I have seen the ai managers abuse their staffs and end up using a RP with 68 Pitch limit to start. I'm trying to get around that.

Oldtimer, I am working to set up 7 associations that will have 2 leagues of 15 teams each. In each association the divisions will be named the same (NE, SE, MidE, NW, SW, MidW) and have the same 5 regional teams in them (i.e. NE = Maine, Delaware, Connecticut, Jersey, Vermont) but with different team names and logos ( I have over 800 logos to choose from). Thus the Maine organization will have one team in each of the 7 associations. Each association’s teams will play a 162 game season. I will input each teams wins into an Excel data sheet to determine which organization (i.e. Maine, Oregon, Texas, Georgia, Wisconsin, or say Utah) is the Champion. This set up will allow me to utilize most of the hitters and pitchers that had at least one good year in the Majors plus multiple years for Babe Ruth and perhaps some others. I also will have a few fictional players including me spread through the 7 associations.
To help me set up the teams’ rosters, I am now in the process of keying all hitters’ ‘best year’ into an Excel data base that shows his name/yr, region&association, position, bats, batting average, on base %, wlk/ab/hr, and incidental notes about triples, steals, # gd yrs (>.250)/career yrs. I am about 2/3 complete with 4,000 hitters in. I have also set up an Excel sheet for pitchers similar to the hitters but are noting use, arm, ERA, Whip, g/inn hit/hr wlk/so, and incidental notes. I have already entered about half of the information for 3,000 pitchers. These two data bases will be used to choose and place the hitters and pitchers on teams. When I have finished assigning the players to teams in Excel, I will sort the players by team and then use that sorted Excel sheet to actually place the players on their respective team in one of the 7 associations.
I am setting up the 7 associations the same in sandbox mode, all 7 will play in the same Start Year (i.e. 1949), NO (finances, salaries, free agency), 30 teams (4th choice), 3x5 team divisons per league (balanced), 40 player roster, injuries, continuous replay mode, customize schedule/162 games, strict fatigue, NO dh, 5 man rotation, closer, Tru-Life, NO historical data, and add ‘source year’ to player’s name

HOLY SMOLY!! What a huge undertaking!! ... Sound so fantastic!! ... keep me in the loop regarding the initial season... very much interested in that setup!!
Has been a very long time, since I had uses the Sandbox mode... It's my favorite of them all modes... I noticed in the other thread about the error... I, too, had experienced that problem and found the solution... but, sheesh, has been a long time in remembering what it was and unfortunately, we don't have that thread from another site, "Wolverine Studios", where I had a step by step, in a way to avoid that error...
Also, somewhere in my disks of yesteryear, laying underneath the pile of sands dust.. there was a real kool database from a genius named Pudge27, which can be used to replace the current lahmanps.mdb, sporting all the former Negroes and Japanese players mingled in with the database... Oh what glory of watching Josh hitting home runs, along with the pitching phenom of Paige and Victor Starffin... it was certainly a lot of fun...
Anyway, Have you all a great Forth!!
