In just the second game of the sixth season of Dixie Capital Association III, the Atlanta Phantoms knocked off the Tallahassee Trojans 3-2 in 27 innings! The scroll and the Game Log both had an interesting way to let me know the inning. See the attachment for the 21st inning. The 22nd and 23rd had the same gwammer ewaas.

Wow ... I never had a game that lasted THAT long ... and Way too funny, mate ... It's a wonder why no one reported a grammar bug ... That has to be the longest game yet ... how long did it take you to finish managing the game ...

I'm strictly hands off in this assn. I "watch" every Atlanta game, starting with the top of the 8th. I occasionally watch other games when the pitching matchup is a good one. I import the players each off-season and let the ten teams do their own draft. Last year, the Phantoms finished with the worst record and, therefore, "earned" the first pick. With players such as Eddie Murray and Carlos Delgado available, the Phantom GM selected former Saturday Night Live news anchor Norm Macdonald and made him their new closer. It has worked out thus far, as "Norm" has three saves in three chances and has not allowed a base runner. In these pix, you see Norm on the left before he made it as a comic actor. He was known then as Tom Johnson. UPDATE: Norm/Tom now has four perfect innings and 4 saves to start the season. FINAL UPDATE: After retiring his 13th batter in a row, Norm/Tom allowed a single and a homer. He still was in line for the save, as the team clung to a 4-3 lead. Two singles and an error later the funny man was pulled with two outs and the bases loaded. His replacement allowed a quick single, plating two unearned runs, and Norm/Tom was tagged with the loss. .
