The Draft and Free Agency happens between seasons. You do have the option of trying to sign players before they go to FA. I think it is in reports and contract status.
I use House Rule for DL. If a player is 10 plus days, they go on the 15 or 60 day DL depending on how long he is hurt. I go 15 if the player is hurt from 10 days to 30 days. Any amount over 30 days, he goes to 60 day DL. Putting him on the DL is entirely up to you. It is not automatic.
Free Agency, you find the players you are interested in and place an offer. You may or may not get him. If you are the only bidder, you should get him. If others interested, you will get messages saying he is leaning toward another team's offer and ask if you wish to up your offer.

Yeah, That's right, Mark ... it's before the campaign start ... I just assumed it was at the beginning ... it all there before the Spring begins ... thanks for clarifying the AD/FA status ...

When you go in to start a new game, you should have the options on a roster of anywhere from 30 to 60 man rosters. Have to click on the down arrow and highlight the one you want.
Same for the playoffs, although it is possible that the two wildcard format came out in real life after the game was made and there has been n update to add to the list. There is a place in the options when setting up a new game to click on the arrow down and see all the different formats. It might be listed in there.
Minor league stats are just random generated. I think they are more for those that have a league set up on one scale or 1-5 or even 1-10. Lower scales means having to rely more on the stats than the possibility of higher scaling. If you lose a 1B to long term injury and you go grab a replacement. Your AAA 1B is hitting 210 with 3 HRs and your A 1B is hitting 400 with 10 HRs. If you are playing with the hidden very low ratings scale, you might be tempted to go with the hot hand at A. But, say you are using scale 1-100 and with those above stats, you see that your AAA 1B has CONTACT/POWER of 80-65 and your A 1B has rating of 5-1, you will still call up the AAA because he has a better chance of doing something. I haven't tried hidden ratings yet, but sure seem interesting.

A couple of ways I know of.........go to transactions and then click on trades only and then click his name. If you know what position he played, you might be able to find him in the season stats leaders page I can't remember if there is a search for players button at the bottom of your home or Front Office page.

Unfortunately, if you're using Historical Players, it's already in the lahmanps.mdb, and cannot be change, unless you're adept in editing the mdb format... you can uncheck in the Options and Utilies: under the -Association Settings of the In-season Rating Changes ... otherwise, you're Shite out of luck... I have better chances in changing the pitcher's rating than I do with the positional players...... Let me know, one way or another...

To: bobfather I too had a similar experience with a 1971 replay game -Giants vs Cardinals.I had the computer managing the Cardinals.Bob Gibson was no hitting my Giants through 8 innings and the Computer mgr pulled him!He had a low pitch count too.Anyway Gibson combined with the reliever for a successful no hit game. The sad part was I was pulling for the Cards to succeed because of the Computer mgr's move pulling Gibson after eight. Each of the last three SF batters I rooted against.Made me feel like a traitor. As you said, bobfather,"Thank you computer."

Stolen bases! I like to steal bases. I try to steal with the odds in my favor. When my runner's speed is at least +5 or the catchers arm. In my first season I stole at a very high clip. My second season I am at less then 75%. In a 3 games series a catcher with a 58 arm, threw out 5 of 6 runners with plus 80 speed. What am I doing wrong? Is the pitcher invovled somehow? Is there anyway to see the numbers like when advancing on an OF arm? I am very frustrated.

Hey, Mate...
Go ahead and run the Game... just your software is doing it's job, but this Game will not harm your PC, rather your eyes for getting involved with this Game..
On a side note, I believe the latest Lahman DB may have doom certain baseball games due to the changes with regard to the outfielders and how that could created chaos with the Game's code, especially to the full-time DH... this may explained why Shaun's lack of input these days... either he's rewriting the whole new game with better coding or allowing the website to continue toward it's expiration date of February of 2018... (For I had gathered this from my source)...
So, I'll continue to wait out, while I'm playing PureSim, at the same time, playing a similar Game as PureSim...
Luck of the Irish to you, Ladd...
** That's strange... this was for a mate, before I wrote this, asking if the Game is safe when after he had downloaded the Game when its prompted not safe... He disappeared with his post... maybe, I am getting too old these days... ugh!!

Old Timer
I hope that Shaun does not let this free game wither away!!! Yet I know that he can not work for free either, that is why I believe he is extremely generous in having this game available for us now (and I hope in the future for bb fans that can not afford to purchase games). But I also would like to see it produced so I could possibly buy it and thus have it permanently on my system.

I'm not sure if anyone checks this thread anymore, but I'm a devout PS fan who's purchased this game multiple times (each time I upgraded a device).
I'm having a problem with the 2007 version (V1.75), in that when I create a Sandbox season, that everything becomes "unclickable" pre-draft. It does not freeze, as I can still move the mouse around. Just can not advance past that stage. I tried downloading PS onto my desktop computer too, using a different version of Windows and I experience the exact same results.... =( Any ideas?

Scott,
I'll try to duplicate what you're experiencing tonight when I get home, perhaps I can see what the issue is or find a workaround. I don't recall seeing this myself, but it's been a while since I created a new association- been playing existing ones for a while now.

ACK!
Sorry, Scott- I just realized which version you're playing; it hadn't clicked at first. I'm running a very different version- v6.12a of the 'full' game. I'd happily take a look at your issue if you have a link to somewhere I can get your same version. Otherwise, I regret that I won't be of any help after all.

Do you know where I can grab that same version? The one I mentioned was basically the only one I could locate through google searches, 11 years after the fact.. lol
