The Red Sox bounce back with a 4-2 win over the Cardinals. World Series even:2-2.
Turning Point: Jonny Gomes unexpected 3-run home run at the top of the sixth, giving the Red Sox a comfortable 3-run cushion over the Cardinals: 4-1. To be fair, the Cardinals threatened the Red Sox during the subsequent innings, especially at the bottom of the 7th where they scored one run. However, they could have scored more runs since the bases were loaded.
It's back to the drawing boards for the Cardinals.
Great game! Great series!

The Red Sox take the lead in the World Series, 3-2, as the Red Sox post a 3-1 victory over the Cardinals.
The Red Sox drew first blood early in the game with Dustin Pedroia scoring on a double by David Ortiz at the top of the 1st, giving them a 1-0 lead.
At the bottom of the 4th Matt Holliday homers to tie the game: 1 -1.
The 7th inning proved to be the decisive point of the game. Stephen Drew scores on a Jacoby Ellsbury single. This was followed by David Ross's ground-rule double hit which sends Xander Bogaerts to the home plate, giving the Red Sox a 2-run lead: 3-1.
3-1 ended up as the final score as the Red Sox closer, Koji Uehara, did a great job in preserving their lead by retiring the hitters of the Cardinals.
It's now a must-win situation for the Cardinals when the series returns to Fenway Park.

The Red Sox clinch the 2013 World Series title with a 6-1 victory over the Cardinals!
It all started with a 3-run blast at the bottom of the 3rd. With the bases loaded, Shane Victorino doubles, sending Jacoby Ellsbury, David Ortiz, and Jonny Gomes to the home plate, giving the Red Sox a 3-0 lead.
This was followed by a home run by Stephen Drew. Mike Napoli then singles on a soft line drive, allowing Jacoby Ellsbury to score. David Ortiz adds another run on a Shane Victorino single. All these happened at the bottom of the 4th, giving the Red Sox an almost insurmountable lead of 6 runs. The score: 6-0, in favor of the Red Sox.
However, the Cardinals threatened at the top of the 7th. After scoring a run on a single by Carlos Beltran, the bases were loaded. Unfortunately, the Cardinals weren't able to capitalize on this.
From then on, it was up to bullpen of the Red Sox to preserve their lead. They did it superbly, and the Red Sox win their 3rd World Series in 10 years.
