Quick take on Eight (8) Teams in the Playoffs.
Eight (8) teams would be outstanding, but that would mean an extra Three (3) Weeks (minimum) to Six (6) Weeks Maximum.
You are looking at Two (2) Teams playing a maximum of 21 extra games. I am sure the Players Union would frown upon that idea.
Possibility of Managers complaining about too much time off between Series if Teams Sweep the first Two (2) Rounds. With today's Post Season scheduling, a team could have up to 6 days off between rounds.
The owners would want to make every game a night game for maximum stadium profit. There would have to be an agreement of some type for the Playoff Revenue Sharing for the First Round if all games are to be played at night. Also, owners would complain that One (1) team could have up to Twelve (12) home games while another could only have Nine (9) and if a Team Sweeps each round only Six (6) games. I know these are petty, but we are talking about Baseball Owners.
MLB would be playing baseball until middle to late November, which I do not see happening.

Looks like another postseason of disappointment for the Braves and A's. I went to bed last night with the Braves ahead 4-3 and the VCR taping. I watched the meltdown this morning. Sad to see the Braves' best player talking to the bullpen catcher in the bullpen while the Dodgers celebrate taking the lead.
The A's are technically still alive, but Verlander owns them and he comes in fresh for Game 5. It was fun while it lasted.

Verlander may own them, but he hasn't really pitched very well this season and that could be all the difference the A's need.
