Great Read... They're terrifying. Truly. When I'm playing and they're up to hit, I literally pause, take a deep breath, then make the pitch. I would love to intentionally walk them all, but that would be a mathematically BAD idea and guarantee them at least 1 run per game.

Oh-Oh-O'ReillyAugust 14, 2021
Enjoying the high from yesterday's win and boasting a 4-1 record against Boston so far this year, the Tampa Bay Rays prepared to face off against the Red Sox for game 2 of the 3-game series. Pleased with the improved defense from last game, Castro again reassigned Ron Turner (.275, 17 HR, 68 RBI) to the DH role, as his offensive capability cannot be ignored, and returned Samson Copeland (.215, 4 HR, 40 RBI) to the starting lineup, again playing short. Pitching for Tampa Bay will be Miguel Lora (10-11, 5.14 ERA) who leads the team in both wins, losses, and highest ERA. The Rays are hoping that the Good Lora will hit the mound and not the Evil Lora. He was originally scheduled to face off against Raymond Romero (5-7, 7.21) who has had his fair share of down times, but a rotation change had Boston sending their ace, Melvin O'Reilly (14-6, 3.02 ERA), who had been scheduled to start tomorrow, up to the mound today instead. Daniel Quinlan (.251, 15 HR, 62 RBI) hit first and hit hard, sending his 16th home run of the year well over the left field wall for a lead-off, 2nd pitch home run. Lora kept the Red Sox in check until the top of the 4th inning, when Anders VanDerGruut (.334, 31 HR, 100 RBI) slammed a sinking fastball into the upper bleachers, tying the game at 1-all and notching his 100th RBI on the year. Starting off the 6th inning, Eddie Lane (.308, 26 HR, 70 RBI) got in on the action, launching his 26th rocket off Lora, who had kept Boston on a short leash all game long. Lane's hit was just the second one allowed by the surprisingly skillful Lora (the other was VanDerGruut's blast). Unfortunately, as good as Lora was pitching, O'Reilly was doing better, settling down after the Quinlan shot and silencing the Rays' offense. Regrettably, Lora's stellar outing would be in vain, as Tampa Ray was unable to back him up. Boston reliever Joseph Armistead (0-2, 3.67 ERA, 24 SV) shut them down pitching a seamless 9th for his 24th save and ensuring Boston's revenge.
